Sexual health not only means the absence of disease or infections but also covers the ability to control fertility, to have children and to enjoy a fulfilling sexual relationship. We also provide a full range of women health services.
Service provided:
Full range of family planning services for men and women including:
• Advice on barrier methods
• Oral contraceptive pill
• Progesterone-only Pill (P.O.P. or ‘’Mini-pill’’)
• The morning after pill and post coital IUD (coil)
• The Implanon (‘’the bar’’)
• Depo-Provera (3 monthly injection)
• Mirena and copper coil (IUD)
• Advice on male and female sterilisation
• Fertility advice and investigations (men, women and couples)
We also provide advice and treatment on sexual health issues for men and women including:
• Sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening including genital warts, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, genital herpes, hepatitis B and HIV
• Sexual difficulties – premature ejaculation, impotence, vaginismus, painful sex
• Teenage sexual health (contraception, STIs, sexual difficulties, etc.)
In addition, we provide the following women health services:
• Advice on preparation for pregnancy
• Free pregnancy testing for all women
• Maternity care
• Support for breastfeeding mothers
• Post-natal care for mothers and babies
• Incontinence advice and treatment
• Cancer screening (breast examination and cervical smear testing)
• Hormonal treatment for menopause (HRT), premenstrual tension, etc.
• Investigation and management of menstrual disorders
• Full medical check-up for men and women (Medicheck)
